About the Express Transfer Process

Pennco Tech offers a simple way to transfer your credits and get started with one of our programs as soon as possible. Our three-step express transfer process is as follows:

Step 1: Admissions Department Consultation

Schedule a same-day appointment with our admissions department by calling one of our campuses:

• Bristol: 215-785-0111

• Blackwood: 856-232-0310

Mention that you’re interested in transferring to Pennco Tech, and we will be happy to arrange a personal tour of our facilities to show you all that our programs have to offer and provide the information you need.

Step 2: Education Department Meeting

In a one-on-one conversation with a member of our education department, we will review your transcript and determine if you qualify for advanced standing and can be placed at the equivalent point of your current program into a Pennco Tech program. Otherwise, the best option could be for you to start fresh from the beginning of your chosen program. Every student’s situation is unique, and outcomes may vary.

Step 3: Financial Aid Meeting

If you qualify for advanced standing, you won’t be eligible for loan forgiveness unless there are justifying circumstances. If you’ll be starting fresh in a program, our advisors will determine whether any of your loans are forgivable. In either scenario, our dedicated Financial Aid staff works with each transfer student to help them find loans they qualify for and plan the best way to pay for trade school.

Student and Veteran Rights

Pennco Tech believes it’s vital for students to understand their rights when their previous institution closes. This includes the right to transfer credits to another school and request the following:

  • A refund from the school
  • Have student loan(s) discharged
  • Reimbursement for tuition from recovery fund
  • Transcripts

For veteran students, there are a host of resources available to determine any additional rights when transferring to a new trade school, including the GI Bill®* Comparison Tool. This calculates housing allowances, tuition, fees, graduation and loan default rates, and more.

*The GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA), which will not pay education benefits at an unapproved institution. Only the USDVA can provide assistance or address questions related to GI Bill® eligibility or payment. Learn more at gibill.va.gov.
